​Body image
A term that refers to a person's inner picture of his or her outward appearance.
It has two components: perceptions of the appearance of one's body,
and emotional responses to those perceptions.

- ​Caused primarily from a fear of gaining weight and distorted self-image
- ​Restricts amount of food consumed

Loss of appetite and creates hormonal imbalance

- Believes a part or many parts of the body are defected
- Leads to depression, and social anxiety and isolation
- The act of consuming and then purging to reduce weight gain
- Most common forms of purging: vomiting and laxatives
